Body Of Work - Progress Report: Satisfaction Colour

This is my second piece from the colour collection of my body of work, again pencil on cardboard, sky blue crayola pencil. Later along the journey I found a way to deal with the stresses of HSC and I became satisfied with myself at how far I have come despite the troubles I have been through and was currently going through. Blue to me symbolizes mellow and deep thought emotions, which I have conveyed through exploring this emotion in the detail medium of pencil rather than a wild medium such as ink.

Body Of Work - Progress Report: Anger Colour

This is one of the pieces from the colour collection for my body of work, I currently have four, this is not a current picture as this piece has been completed. This has been drawn with a crimson crayola pencil on cardboard, it explores me through my anger stage in pencil medium to achieve a detailed account of emotions and perspectives. Anger has been the main emotion in the early stage of my journey hence why it is the only complete piece I have.

2007, I started doing drawings and other works in a separate art diary and experimented with softer lead pencils, hence why the drawing appears to be faded and only half there, thanks to my shitty scanner. I done works in this separate diary as a sort of rebellion towards my art at school, I felt the way we were being taught at school was very conformist and literally pathed down and it was either this way or no way. That was a main factor that threw me off art, I felt if the only way I could do art at school was to do it their way than I would not conform, art can never be confined to a single path.

Sea life

This was in 2006 I believe, under the skillful eye of Mrs Oliver. In class we were doing sea life and we had to make a clay pot in the shape of a sea creature, we had to draw up a rouch sketch of a sea animal to inspire our pot. I got carried away on the drawing part and thought of these sketches as the artwork rather than the pot. This was before I understood the importance of planning when working with three dimensional works.

Bob

In 2005 my visual arts teacher Miss Keys gave us the task of cutting the photograh entitled Bob in half and draw the other half. This was my favourite task in year 7 as it allowed me to use the techniques of shade, tone and depth that I have learnt from Janean. I got 39 out of 40 for the task and amazed my peers by using a technique they had never seen before, spliting the image into several squares which allowed a percise scale drawing. All thanks to Janean.

Funny Anger

In 2002 when my younger brother started coming to art lessons with Janean. This one is a bit bigger than the last two, done with pencil and oil pastels on card. Noah was to pose angry, but he would have trouble containing his laughter hence why it doesn't come across as a full blown angry piece.

Bugs

This was in 2001, done with acrylic paints and stamps, pencil and gel pen on card. Dimensions are unsure of as the original is stored somewhere but I think it was about 20x20 cm. Again while under the wise arm of Janean Gerard.
